ABC Teaching Human Rights is an interesting booklet created by the United Nations (UN) to the UN decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004). It was created mostly to give tools and activities in Human Rights Education to teachers in primary and secondary schools.

Everyone that has an interest in knowing more about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights should read this booklet with nice design and great activities that you can do not only in schools also in CISV programs or even with your friends.

The booklet also has an introduction about children’s rights and a great annex with the Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and a selection of Organizations that works with Human Rights.

“ABC: Teaching Human Rights – Practical activities for primary and secondary schools talks about us as human beings. It talks about the process of teaching and learning the significance of the inherent “dignity and worth of the human person” which is the “foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world” (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, preamble). And it talks about the rights that belong to us all.” (Sergio Vieira de Mello. Foreword, ABC Teaching Human Rights)
